    1. Prepare the Tomatoes:

      • Halve or roughly chop the tomatoes based on their size (smaller tomatoes can be halved, while larger ones can be roughly chopped).
      • Place the tomatoes in a mixing bowl. Season them generously with salt and pepper for flavor.
    2. Add Remaining Ingredients:

      • To the bowl with tomatoes, add the crushed garlic, drained and rinsed capers, chopped avocado, and thinly sliced red onion.
      • Gently mix all the ingredients together until combined. Set the mixture aside to marinate for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
    3. Prepare the Bread:

      • While the tomato mixture marinates, tear or slice the ciabatta (or crusty bread) into 3cm chunks.
      • Place the bread pieces in a large serving bowl or on a platter.
    4. Season the Bread:

      • Drizzle half of the extra virgin olive oil and half of the red wine vinegar over the bread.
      • Add a pinch of salt and pepper to season. Toss the bread gently to coat it in the oil and vinegar.
    5. Combine and Serve:

      • After the tomato mixture has marinated for 10 minutes, pour it along with any released juices over the prepared bread.
      • Scatter the torn basil leaves on top.
      • Drizzle the remaining olive oil and vinegar over the salad.
      • Give everything a gentle stir to combine, ensuring the bread absorbs the flavors.
