Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients
Banana:
- Peel 1 banana and break it into 2-3 smaller chunks. This helps it blend easier.
Mixed Berries:
- Measure out 100g of mixed berries (fresh or frozen). If using frozen, no need to thaw!
Porridge Oats:
- Get 2 tablespoons of porridge oats ready. This adds thickness and fiber.
Milk:
- Pour 350ml of soya milk (or your preferred milk) into a measuring cup.
Protein Powder (Optional):
- If you want extra protein, have 1 tablespoon of pea protein powder ready.
Honey (Optional):
- If you like your smoothie sweet, measure out 1 teaspoon of honey.
Ice Cubes:
- Grab about 3-4 ice cubes for a cool, refreshing touch.
Step 2: Blend the Smoothie
Add Ingredients to Blender:
- Start with the banana: Place the banana chunks in the blender first.
- Add berries: Pour in the mixed berries.
- Include oats: Add the porridge oats next.
- Pour in the milk: Add the soya milk.
- Add protein powder: If using, add the protein powder.
- Sweeten (if desired): Drizzle in the honey.
- Ice cubes: Toss in the ice cubes.
Secure the Lid:
- Make sure the blender lid is on tight to prevent spills.
Blend:
- Start blending on a low speed for a few seconds to mix.
- Switch to high speed and blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth.
- If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk and blend again.
Step 3: Serve the Smoothie
Taste Test:
- After blending, taste your smoothie. If it needs more sweetness, add a little more honey and blend again briefly.
Pour into Glasses:
- Carefully pour the smoothie into two glasses. Use a spoon if needed to help guide it.
Optional Garnish:
- You can add some whole berries or a sprinkle of oats on top for a nice touch.
Step 4: Store Leftovers
Refrigeration:
- If you have any leftover smoothie, cover it and store it in the fridge. It will stay good for up to 24 hours.
Shake or Stir Before Drinking:
- If the smoothie separates in the fridge, just shake the container or stir it well before enjoying.
